Deleting your data
Last updated July 25, 2026
You can delete your SocialGrip data yourself at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what each option removes.
1. Remove one connected social account
Sign in, open Accounts, and choose Disconnect on the account you want removed.
That immediately and permanently deletes:
- the stored account record — platform, handle, display name, avatar
- the encrypted access and refresh tokens we hold for it
- every performance metric we collected for that account
Posts already published to the platform stay there; only the platform itself can remove them. Your post history inside SocialGrip keeps a record that the post was published.
Disconnecting deletes our copy of your tokens, but it does not by itself revoke the app’s authorisation at the platform. To revoke there as well, use the platform’s own settings:
Mastodon and Bluesky are connected with a token or app password you create yourself rather than through an authorisation screen. Revoke those in your Mastodon instance’s settings, or under app passwords in Bluesky.
2. Delete your whole account
Sign in, open Settings, choose Delete account, and confirm with your password. This cannot be undone.
We immediately cancel your subscription and delete:
- your user record, profile and all active sessions
- the workspaces you own, and everything inside them
- connected social accounts and their encrypted tokens
- posts, drafts, scheduled posts and their publishing history
- designs saved in the editor
- your media library — both the records and the stored image files themselves
- performance metrics, publishing schedules and workspace settings
- workspace members and any pending invitations
Posts already published to a social platform are unaffected — delete those on the platform.
What we keep: billing and tax records, such as invoice amounts and dates, for as long as United States tax law requires us to. Residual copies of deleted data may persist in encrypted backups until those backups are rotated out of use.
3. Ask us to delete it
If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address on the account, telling us which account to delete. We verify the request by requiring it to come from the registered email address, or by another reasonable check. We will confirm within 30 days.
If a platform sent you here
If you arrived from Facebook, Instagram, or another platform’s app-permissions page, revoking access there stops any future access. To also erase the data we already hold, use one of the options above or email us at [email protected].
